Oh, help! I've learned how to start a new thread. Now I'm dangerous!
But, seriously, I am starting to work with our high school worship band and a few would like to read a book together. What I really want to stress with them this year is being humble in their leadership, i.e. worship is not a show and being on stage does not make you all that. I'm thinking about using the Rich Mullins biography, "An Arrow Pointing to Heaven."
As I've seen your summer reading lists, I can see most of you are well read. Well, all of you but me. Do you have any other suggestions?

That would be a good one... I think Louie Giglio has a book out on his whole "I am not but I know I AM" sermon... I haven't read it though. I know there are a lot of "humble yourself" themes in that.
Others?

My wife and I heard a youth pastors sermon just this morning, and we discussed how we felt that something was missing from the general scope of youth pastor sermon topics.
Youth in general are very passionate people, but what is preached to them is mostly passion about living for Christ, when the road to knowing Christ is one of both passion and discipline. So, all that to say, I would recommend RJ Foster's Celebration of Discipline as an ongoing group study and practice. It's a wonderful book for a small group to do together, and the content, in practice, will both test and strengthen your group.
If the kids interpret it as a little too black and white, which kids are prone to do, you might try something by Donald Miller (Blue Like Jazz, To Own a Dragon, etc.).
Take it with a grain o' salt.

Hey Meriam, a friend of mine passed on Chris Tomlin's book "The way I was made" to me last year and I really enjoyed it. it's a simple book, easy to read, but it's got some good content. It has a section for group study / discussion in the back. It's not so much about leading worship as it is about living worship. Hope you find what you're looking for.

I enjoyed the chapter in that Tomlin book titled "Living in the key of G". Very, very helpful.
