I think Greg blogged about this recently, but if you're interested in good music, you should really check out Andrew Osenga's newest EP, Letters to the Editor, Vol. 1 . Here's the fun... 1) He asked fans to send pictures, lyric ideas, song titles, etc. and set out to write a record inspired by those submissions 2) He wrote and recorded the record in less than a month (I think a week and a half actually) using only acoustic guitars and his voice, with the exception of... 3) the first ever Webground vocals! There were about 50 of us (I think Greg got in on it too) who recorded their vocals, compressed them to mp3 and mailed them in... we're the choir at the end of the last song. 4) Last but not least... It's completely free. No strings attached. If you like it, Paypal him a few bucks for the effort, and if you don't, pass it on to friends. It's a fun and silly and crazy and profound collection of songs, and it's absolutely wonderful. So, all that said... you can find it (and a description of the process) here. Enjoy! Sean (maybe we'll stir up some traffic again )

Sean, I didn't realize you were on this too man, that's pretty cool. We sounded pretty good singing together! Can you hear yourself on there? My wife says she can hear me, but I say no way. I'm singing the high part... what about you? I agree with everything you said... Osenga's project was genius from start to finish. I think he is pioneering a new way to do music as an indie in these hard times for the music business. I will say this though, it's easier for someone like him to do things like this than it would be for someone like me... he's pretty well established with a decent sized fan base already. If someone like me was to request webground vocals, I'd probably get like 3 people send them in! Although, that would still be kind of cool. Seriously everyone, if you don't have this already, go download it. It's free, and it's good. What more can you want?
