Did anybody watch the Rose Bowl? What a great college football game that was... I absolutely hated both teams going in for the most part, but I guess I was rooting for Texas because it's always great to see the underdog win... and man, it was great to see USC go down... those guys are good but they're thingyy and that drives me nuts...
Man, there were some great players on the field... Young is a stud... White... Bush... Leinert... all those guys are just fun to watch. Reminded me of why I love college football so much... it's the best sport going in my book.

On the 4th and 5 with 19 seconds left, me and everyone else in America were yelling at the TV, "Don't let Young scramble!" How come we knew what was going to happen but USC didn't?
And then to not understand that Texas was going for two, and have to waste your timeout?? That and Bush's attempted lateral made it look like they were a little sloppy. (Although we won't talk about Young's pitch...)

College football replay has to be revamped. It cost Michagan 2 timeouts in their game and they screwed it up last night by not lookiing at Young on 2 knees throwing the ball forward to score a TD and a couple others where they waited till the last possible second to blow a play dead. Either have it and use it right or scrap it altogether or better yet, put 10 more refs on the field under the age of 50 with decent eyesight so you won't miss easy calls. Can we get a playoff system please while we're at it.
I fell asleep during the 45 minute halftime show... Ugggh.. (bowl game halftimes are worse than hockey) although I did stay up till 1pm to watch the worst 2 kickers in collegiate football history extend the orange bowl 2 hrs longer than necessary. If PSU had had their starting RB, FB and WR actually playing, the game would've been over by 10:30, but a butt ugly win is still a win.... I know you love me using your Message Board to praise Joe Pa Greg. You got nine months of silence now though. How 'bout them Vols!! Love ya man.

That orange bowl game was the worst game I've ever seen. Neither team deserved to win... it's a real shame they have overtime, because if there ever was a game that deserved to be a tie, that was it. Geez... that was painful. I was completely unimpressed with Penn State. They may be #3, but either Texas or USC would blow them off the field hardcore.

The orange bowl was hard to watch. FSU didn't deserve to be there in the first place and PSU was missing 3 starting skill guys on offense.
Nobody saw the PSU that avg. nearly 40pts a game this season b/c Hunt played 1 series. Their All-American Derrick Williams must have broken his arm somewhere between the last game and now and he played WR, RB, KR, and CB. He's a stud and deserved to be the highest rated player coming out of high school last year. Then they lose their #1 FB in the 3rd and the Butkus Winner Pusluszny in the 4th. That game was closer than it ever needed to be. A horrible game to watch even for a die hard Joe Pa Junkie like me. They are "GRADUATING" 17 Seniors, but their freshman class are all high speed all americans so I think they'll be tough again next year... Top 10.
My football season is over... All i have to discuss now is some hockey.. but then I'm talking to myself, and the wicked shadow of 7 months of non-stop baseball highlights is on the horizon. The darkest time of the year for sure. It's a good thing I stay busy during the summer.

My wife and I had a very heated discussion about the halftime show because she couldn't fathom why I despise marching bands and why I believe they have no place at football games...

What Marching Bands...?... are their bands during halftime...?... If I'm at the game, I'm waiting in line at the restroom and if I'm at home I'm doing anything but watching the halftime show. Cheerleaders... now there's a pointless addition to any sporting event post High School.

Didn't watch it. Never watch football. Despite my best efforts to understand the game, I don't understand it.
Hehe, thingyy! I figured out the word and went "OH!" and if I type it, it'll just put "thingyy"
AHA! c-o-c-k-y. Maybe.

Um, Penn State was not impressive, deserved to be #3 because that's how the system works, but they were WAY out of their league in the top 3 because USC and Texas are absolute monsters. Michigan would've won if they played better defense. Period. Texas all the way...and if you don't think USC got the long end of the stick this season with some bad calls, then you're blind. It happens every game to everybody. That touchdown by Young on his knees was not a game decider. Sorry. At least UT has a championship in the last 7 years. Oh, and for the record, college football used to be the best sport. Now the pros are. At least you know what's going on with the pros. I hate the corruption of college sports. At least the pros have steroids testing, media hounding them every day to keep them accountable, and you know they play for the money. With college kids, you know it, but they're not allowed to say it. Why I didn't like college football this year: Randy Sanders, Marcus Vick, Reggie Bush worship, Notre Dame is good again and I hate that because now they'll be overrated like they used to be...all the time...every year...no matter how many teams beat them. What I liked: The almost victory of Michigan in the bowl game, Vince Young, Paternos comeback, and the cheerleaders...they are always needed in sports.

Wow... that guest likes the home row keys. Cool. Re: College football ... my opinion.. there are still going to be great players and awesome games, but it won't get any better in my mind until they either come up with a playoff system or cut out 30 of the 35 bowl games. Then it will matter again. The fact that Vandy was almost in a bowl should never happen.
As for PSU.. I won't debate who the 2 best teams were. USC and Texas were all year long or two years long, and of course PSU wasn't impressive... it was like watching a Colts preseason game where Harrison and Edgerrin James sit out. It was ugly, for 2 qtrs, Michael Robinson looked like Ainge missing open players left and right. No one is impressive when they don't have key players in the lineup. It's like playing chess without your bishop and queen. (yes I just made a chess reference).
I still watch college ball, but it has been irrelevant since the BCS came about.
