Man do I love music... Seriously... I am listening to something all the stinkin' time! It seems like I've been finding a lot of great music lately... here are some of my strongest recommendations of the last few months.
Sufjan Stevens - Illinois (Michigan is fantastic too) Andrew Peterson - The Far Country (fantastic writing) Eric Peters - Bookmark (incredible writing, barebones recording. Awesome) Imogen Heap - Speak for yourself (have you HEARD "hide and seek"? go to itunes now! An unreal song... acapella!) Julie Lee - Stillhouse Road (voice+writing=me likey) Kathleen Edwards - back to me (I listen to In State about once a day) Over the Rhine - drunkard's prayer (not their very best, but pretty dang good)
That's it for now... just picked up the new Sara Groves and I'm liking it okay, although she still hasn't topped "All right Here" in my opinion... I think that's just a fantastic record. What are some of your current favorites?

Andrew Peterson - The Far Country - not sure it's been out of the cd player since we got it... Andy Gullahorn - Room to Breathe - man, he's amazing... saw him with AP in the spring and have been hooked ever since Eric Peters - I have a new favorite song everytime I listen to Miracle of Forgetting

I have heard nothing but great things about that Red Mountain stufff... I'm going to have to check that out. And Jill, I've been meaning to pick up that new Andy Gullahorn and haven't yet. I loved his first one ("Old Hat").
Some other things I've been enjoying:
Glen Philips - Winter pays for Summer Bill Mallonee - Hit and Run (internet only release) Nickel Creek - Why should the Fire Die

Seems to be different stuff all the time for me. There's ALWAYS Lost And Found, and then Jonathan Rundman. There's been Letters to Cleo, Don McLean, Good Charlotte, Jerry Chapman. . .

Man... I've never heard of most of this stuff. I'm lost in my bubble. anyway... my 6 disc has A. Pete': Far Country (thanks for the vine on that one), Worship Circle (1st one which is the best in my opinion), Derek Webb: ISTUD, Thousand Food Krutch: Self titled, Essential Bob Dylan, and Kutless: Strong Tower. Quite the collage of music eh. I'm going to have to check out some of this stuff you guys are throwing out there. Maybe I'll get some for christmas. That way if I hate it, I didn't waste money on it.

I grabbed Delirious' new album: Mission Bell and Shane & Shane's Upstairs acoustic album. Both of them are quite good. I heard S&S open for Crowder back in November in Lexington and it was the first time I had heard anything from them. Thought it was strange b/c they have a completely different sound that Crowder & Co., but some of their songs are haunting live (Yearn / I Miss You) Upstairs is sort of a greatest hits thing and I'd recommend it for a first time album. I've heard CLEAN too, but didn't like the sound as much as the straight acoustic stuff.
As for Delirious.. I'm not a HUGE fan, but Martin Smith can write some great lyrics. If you dig U2, you probably already have this CD. Don't think many of the songs will be copied, copied and recopied by church's everywhere, not that kind of album like King of fools was.
Has anybody heard Don Chaffer / Waterdeep's album with Worried Man Blues on it?? I can't remember the exact name of the album, but I just saw it the other day and I like Chaffer and co. Just wondering if it's worth the buy.

I've never heard Don Chaffer/Waterdeep.
Mute Math is a bit too heavy for me. Same with Staple. I saw them back in October 2004 - National Youth Workers Convention by Youth Specialties.
I really need to get some mroe music. . .to be familiar with more music - I'm still back in the earlier CCM days, oldies, and some more recent stuff. I'm getting really into music lately. . .so I'm trying to get all kinds of recommendations.

Listening to Jadon Laviks new CdLife on the inside. It's very Good. I love Warren Barfields New cd-Reach.
New Caedmon's worship is very Good. Andy Osenga has a couple of Gems on there.

Yo.. I picked up Discover America: Psychology the other day and really dig it. I think it's just one guy that mixed a lot of keyboard, kazoo, guitar and accordian. It's different. It kind of reminds me of CAKE a little bit.
