This is a wild one....
I've been invited to play a concert on the field immediately following a minor league baseball game. It's for the single A affiliate of the Houston Astros, the Greeneville Astros. They're having a faith and family night and want to have a concert on the field after the game.
So... obviously I've never done anything like this, and there's a big part of it that sounds like a blast... and another big part of it that sounds TERRIFYING. Their average attendance is 1900 per game and this is expected to be a major promotion for them (possible attendance of around 3000).
What do you think? Opportunity for great success or opportunity for huge embarassment and failure?

Okay, sold. I don't have many rules for this stuff but "Will Play for Nachos" are words to live by.

Wow. The only baseball concert I have in recent memory is Point of Grace at a Smokies game, and two of the ladies were pregnant. I don't know if you can pull off the pregnant soprano very well, so the dynamic might be different. Still, nachos.......

This sounds...interesting. I might show up with my "number 1" glove just for you. Maybe my hat with the beer funnel on it...or maybe a jersey with your last name on it. OH, what about some pom-poms? I think I could do some cheers for your show. Maybe you could do a duet with the mascot. That would be priceless. For your introduction you could play the bulls theme song. And don't forget,...if you build it, they will come.

Ease his pain...
Also, I will remember that there's no crying in baseball.

Yay! Do it! I don't ever remember any concerts, but I fondly remember Lutherans day at the Astros! (They may have been having concerts these recent years, but we've not been going lately.)
