If any of you are the kind of folks who believe that prayer changes things, would you be so kind as to lift up a struggling songwriter? I've really been hitting a wall lately and it is so frustrating... I've actually written a lot in the last month, but it's all bad. Probably 10 songs that I'll sit down and work out and write out and then after they're finished I'll sit back and look at them and realize that they just aren't compelling.
Having a record out is kind of a litmus test now for a good song... Most of the new songs I write, after they're done, I ask myself "Okay... would this song have been good enough to make the record... would I even consider it for the next record?" If the answer is yes or maybe, we're in business. Problem is, the last 10 or so songs the answer has been a solid "no" every time.
anyway, I know... boo hoo.. poor me... there are wars going on. Pray for that too, but if you have a second right now, and wouldn't mind to say a prayer on my behalf, I would appreciate it.

I will pray for you. Old Radio is mine and Mac's favorite song by far though. I don't know how recent you wrote that, but it is a great song. Also, the amount of good songs you have written since you began the "52 songs in 52 weeks" project is astounding. I have written probably 3 decent songs in my lifetime. It takes forever for me to get ideas and stuff together, but you just do it in a matter of hours on a napkin or a piece of toilet paper or some other random object. You have an amazing gift man, and I know it didn't just up and dissappear. So with that...peace out.
Thingy.
This time I really did write thingy instead of something else.
