Now that "Chase the Western Sky" is off to be mastered and out of my hands for a couple of weeks, I've had a chance to work on my other little record called "Thirty-Three". I've been working primarily on getting this thing mixed and also on figuring out how I'm going to duplicate it and what I'm going to do for artwork.
Since my budget for this record is about zero dollars and zero cents (and I'm already about $100 over budget) I've got to figure out a way to do it on the cheap! I think I've got some good leads though and I think the packaging is going to be unique and kind of cool. Similar to "The Bluegrass Service" if you've seen that but also different... we'll see how it turns out.
The CD is (I think) going to have 18 tracks! I'm not sure about the final order, but as of right now, it is:
Little
The Black Keys (original demo)
Old Shoes (original demo)
Song about Virginia
I Never Want to Hurt You Again
Talkin' Hardees Monster Thick Burger Blues
Mommy is Out of Town
Bumper Sticker
Ready for Real Life
Tear Blinded Eyes
Four Bucks
Turning Point
Losin' It (Bill Mallonee cover)
The Ballad of Beverly Brown
Still Small Voice
Jessica's Lullaby
Psalms (Don Heffington cover)
Adkins Basement, 1978
Most of these are new recordings but a few of them are from the 52 songs in 52 weeks project (Still Small Voice, Talkin' Hardees Blues, Black Keys). "Little" and "Bumper Sticker" were both a part of that project but these are new recordings of those songs.
Oh, also... the big news with this record is that for the first month that "Chase the Western Sky" is available, you'll get a copy of "Thirty-Three" for FREE. After that it will be $10 on its own or $5 when ordered with any other CD but for the first 30 days, it will be a freebie. You can't beat that with a stick.
