Hey gang...
Getting ready to walk out the door for day 6 of tracking in Asheville, NC. Things are really starting to take form now. Today we'll finish all of the bass (an upright player is coming to play on 5 tracks today) and then the songs will really start to come to life. It's almost like watching kids grow up. Well, not really. Sort of. Okay, no.
Anyway, I'm starting to get excited... you never know as you start working if a record is going to be any good or not, and there is always that voice of doubt whispering that it's going to turn out to be horrible. At this point, I don't think that will be the case... I think we're onto something pretty good here. I can't wait for you guys to hear some of this.
Target date right now to be finished recording and mixing is September 1st. Target release date is probably October 15th or somewhere in that ballpark.

thanks Sharon! All went well. We now have bass and drums on everything and a few other things here and there. Now it's into the overdubs portion. Next session is here in Knoxville on tuesday... I'll be recording the dobro parts with a local musician. Then, next Thursday it's back to Asheville for fiddle and some pianos, and then all day next Friday in Nashville at Sputnik Studios with Andy Osenga! Yep... he'll be playing and singing on the record!

So do you have a fall concert tour planned for the release?

Not yet Jamie. I'm waiting until I have an actual release date nailed down. I don't want to have shows scheduled and then not have product. The "CD release tour" will actually span probably from November until about March. I would actually love to retrace all the steps I've taken the first 2 years of touring so a stop in Michigan is a possibility for sure.

Well, it just so happens that I would love to visit Lansing and Milford. They're some of my favoritest places. Maybe early spring? Februaryish?
