What would you say...

What would you guys say if I told you I was going to release not one album this September, but two?

I've been working on some new demos at the home studio and I am just having a blast and the recordings are going better than I thought they would. I got some new equipment... better mics and the like, and the results are surprising me. If you ever heard my original demos for the 52 songs project, they were just that... demos. I would never actually attempt to release any of that stuff (as in, try to charge money) because the recording quality just wasn't there on those recordings. These are different... they're sounding pretty great.

So, the plan as of right now is this:

As I'm in Asheville working on my "real" album, I'm going to work here in Knoxville on my other album. I'm not sure what it's going to be yet, but more than likely it's going to be an album for songs that I like but probably wouldn't ever put on a "real" release... if that makes sense. So, it will be a real album with songs I wouldn't put on a real album. Yeah, I guess that doesn't make sense. Oh well, it makes sense to me!

So... this could change, but that's the plan for now. I'm pretty excited about it and I've got some interesting ideas for some kind of cool promotional things I might do with this album.

Oh yeah... also... I NEED YOUR HELP!

Those of you who know my stuff... what songs would you like to hear on this? I'm willing to consider about anything out of my catalog for this and I'm planning on re-recording a couple of the 52 songs project songs for this release... there are some good songs there that I never liked the recordings.

Okay... enough rambling. Let me know if there are any songs you guys want me to consider for this. I won't make any promises, but I'll think about it for sure!

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah! Everything sounds so exciting. I still think you should work on "Bottom of a Broken Heart." Maybe have Mandy sing it or something if it's too high for you. It's just a fabulous song!

Thanks you guys. I'm pretty excited about this. I've got 2 songs almost finished and a 3rd that's coming together. I think this little side project is going to be a very unique little record... very different from what I normally do, but hopefully in a good way!

Meriam, I'll go back and play with that one a little and see if I can get it to where I like it a little bit better. It's for sure way too high but I might be able to lower it or tweak the melody. I'm trying to revisit some of those old songs and see if I can change them up a little. Nothing has worked yet, but I'm hopeful.
