I'm always reading a few things at once, one of which is usually a ministry book. Awhile ago I finished reading "Frogs Without Legs Can't Hear." It was written by two ELCA pastors and has been one of my favorite youth and family ministry books. Has anybody else read it? If not, I strongly recommend it! If you have read it, what did you think of it? I'd like to discuss it!

I've never heard of it... what's the idea behind it?

It talks about the church "frog." It's based on a joke about a mad scientist. . .let's see if I can find it online, it's the first joke on this page - creationsafaris.com/humor.htm (we say a mad scientist, not Chinese and the last line is usually "frogs without legs can't hear" and thus the title of the book). It's all about faith formation and the importance of how it is important that all influences in faith formation work together, just as a frog nees it's three parts together. The head is leadership (pastors, youth ministers), the body is the congregation, the legs are the family. Apparently there are also some study helps withit online, the most thoroug from the Youth And Family Institute - www.youthandfamilyinstitute.org/documents/Frogs1-15.pdfAnd one from a church at www.wmlchurch.org/Feb13Sermon.pdfIt's one of the few ministry books I REALLY enjoyed rather than reading and going, "yeah, yeah, no, no, no, yeah. . ."
