So, the fall tour is over. It was really a great experience... a total of 17 shows which doesn't seem like a lot, but for someone who prior to September had never played a show anywhere other than New City Cafe, it felt like a lot. I played shows in Tennessee, Kentucky, Michigan, Georgia, Virginia, and Ohio. The vast majority of the shows I played by myself, but my friend Danny Rosenbalm went with me to Michigan and also to the show in Berea, KY and that was a lot of fun. I also played a couple of shows with Nancy Haney which was really great too. Only two of the shows were full band shows... I have to admit... it's fun to play with a band, but I really feel like I can connect with an audience better when it's just me or me with one other person. Something about adding a band seems to take away some of the intimacy.
Anyway, for any of you who came out to shows (or just happened to be hanging out in a place I was playing...) thank you for listening. Out of 17 shows, only one time did I feel like no one was listening... I think that's pretty good.
I'm already working at putting together a good schedule for the Spring. As of right now, I have plans on the books to visit these cities in the spring:
Nashville, TN
Chattanooga, TN
Lakeland, FL
Ocala, FL
Berea, KY
Ft. Wayne, IN
Indianapolis, IN
I'm also doing a show opening for shawn mcdonald which will be really cool... he's pretty great.
So... it was a good fall. I found out what I wanted to know which was... can I do this? Do I like playing shows enough to want to keep doing it? the answer to both of those questions is yes... and so... see you out on the road in 2006.
