Hey folks, Two new songs from The Trumpet Child, Over the Rhine's latest, are up on their management (?) site... www.shorefire.com/clients/rhine/The songs are "Trouble" and "If a Song Could Be President" and their great... folk music with chamber instruments, whoo! And of course, Karin's voice, which is a symphonic hall's worth of instruments all in itself... It kinda reminds me of Jeremy Casella's new release... Recovery is amazing too! www.virb.com/jeremycasella or you can find him on eMusic

Thanks for the heads up Sean! Those are amazing...
Have you heard "live from nowhere 2"? Also amazing.

Oh yeah... I have to say, the live tracks with the violin (?) are absolutely phenomenal... makes it hard to listen to the (already amazing) studio version for Jesus in New Orleans (gives the song a whole new life) and especially Little Did I Know (it has to be a special night to get me excited about the four-minute saxaphone solo).
PS I'm gonna post soon (I promise), but I did want to say thanks for all the wonderful music you've passed on in the past two years (!)... my newest addiction (among many you and other fine folks have encouraged here) is Wilco. I know I didn't like Kicking Television, but they lured me in with Sky Blue Sky and they are a-ma-zing. All to say, thanks so much... I can't imagine where I'd be without OtR or Patty Griffin...
(a very grateful) Sean

Sean,
The violin player on that record is more than likely going to be playing on my new CD. I'm pretty psyched about that!

Really? Wow... that'll be amazing! I'm hoping to download some of their "Mp3 rarities" ... the instrumental tracks w/ the same guy accompanying (I think).
Tres exciting!

Yeah, I don't have those yet either. His name is Paul Patterson and he lives around Cincy... plays with a lot of people up there, but after hearing him play on that OtR record, I just thought man, that guy is amazing. I should track him down. Turns out he's a super nice guy and if I'm willing to come up to Cincy to record in a studio he likes to use, he said he'd be glad to play on the record. I am willing to go to Cincy, so it looks like we're in business! - Greg

Hey Greg,
Did you catch the webcast last night? I was an hour too late coming home from a wedding, but I pre-ordered and the new songs sound fantastic! Word on the street is that they'll be streaming the album from their site in a few days... Hope things are going well on vacation!
