Not to be a jerk, but hearing all this talk about the least favorite songs made me wonder what the favorites were... any takers?
I can tell you that my favorite was Heavenly Descent. We almost didn't do that song, but Andrew had a great idea for the production and it turned into my favorite... I love the "deep and wide... deep and wide.... there's a river..." part a lot. Probably because we had a lot of fun with all the people in the studio who came down to record that. I also really loved Ben's piano line on the song... really creative and pretty.

I would have to say it's a tie between The Black Keys, I See a Lot of You in Me, and Be the Body. The rest are a tie for second favorite.

Thanks Sharon! I was starting to get my feelings hurt! My wife says I'm WAY too sensitive... if that made me cry, I guess she's right.

I love The Black Keys. It is one good driving song. Makes me want to actually play on the upright piano I have in my computer room.

My favorite is Not Another Worship Song, because it is just so true. Which one is Jessica's favorite?

Come Lord Jesus or I See A Lot Of You In Me, with Talkin' Church of The Future Blues just a given that it's great...

Come Lord Jesus is my fav. I didn't expect it to go where it went, but it really pegged worship without the over used terminologies we're immune to.
The Church of the Future song had me cheering in my car on the first play through. I guess it scratched an itch.

My favorite is definitely "Tattered Old Notebook", with "Romantic Comedy" and "I See a Lot of You in Me" in a very close second.

It's definitely hard to pick one favorite! I like everything. .I guess favorites are "The Black Keys," "Romantic Comedy," "Rock of Ages," and "Talkin' Church of the Future Blues."
BTW: I always find how the words are different in hymns interesting. The "Rock of Ages" you know is different from the one I know in a few places.
Rock of ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in thee. Let the water and the blood, from thy wounded side wich flowed, be of sin the double cure, clense me from its guilt and power.
And more, but I'll just stick with one verse!

Dude..?... the two songs about Connor are the stuff just because I'm having a boy in 4 months and can't wait to do stuff like that with him. Besides that... I love "not another worship song" for the honesty and simplicity of it. It's good stuff man

My favorite is definatly 'the black keys'...it's simply an amazing song. "I see a lot of you..." is probably my second favorite. Overall the album is fantastic. The production is great--i'd love to sit and talk with you about the process and details of creating it.

Thanks for the kind words man... I appreciate that a lot. Hopefully we'll have a few minutes to chat in Wilmington... that's great that you're planning on coming. I'm really looking forward to being there... I'm planning on getting there pretty early and I think the show will start between 7 and 8 (I'm not sure actually... I need to look that up).
See you Friday!
